Miriam Schulman
Whether her subject is penguins or people, it's personality that moves the paintbrush of artist Miriam
Schulman. Schulman's
charming portraits, both human and animal, express individuality with humor and dignity. Her uniqueness
comes from her
mastery of watercolor for portraits; a medium rarely used for portraits but is ideal for expressing
luminosity of skin tones. Her
work has been published in various publications, including the New York Times. Exhibited at galleries
and selected for prestigious
juried shows throughout the New York tri-state area, Schulman's works are also included in private collections
internationally.
She is a member of the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, Mamaroneck Artist Guild, the Scarsdale
Art Association and the
Greenwich Art Society. The New Jersey native studied with noted artist in her home state, Elise Morenon
and Mel Stabin. A
resident of Scarsdale for 10 years, Schulman lives in Greenacres with her husband and children.
